The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk® is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research – and it calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against this fatal disease. Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $260 million for the cause.
Memory Walk is a community event that joins friends, family and co-workers as they walk to end Alzheimer’s. Participants typically register in teams of 10-12 and fundraise using tools supported by the Alzheimer’s Association. Walks vary from one to three miles and are held in nearly 600 locations nationwide.

“The East Central Missouri Memory Walk is held annually in Washington, MO serving Franklin, Gasconade, Crawford and Phelps counties. This year’s walk is the 12th annual event in Washington and will feature a number of fun activities such as a “fun run” for kids and live entertainment. American Legion Park
The walk is held at the American Legion in Washington (1007 E. 3rd) across from St. John’s Mercy Hospital. Because of lane closures, take Hwy 47 to 5th Street, turn right in front of the hospital & make a left onto Washington Street going toward the hospital parking lot. Cross 3rd Street and turn left into the American Legion parking lot. Additional parking is available in the hospital employee lot at the corner of 3rd Street and Madison.
